Memphis is waking to clear skies and temperatures around 66 degrees Monday morning, but the day will quickly turn summer-like. Sunshine will push the high to about 91 degrees, with southwest winds running 5 to 10 mph and no rain in sight.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, dry conditions should hold through Tuesday, when another sunny day could reach 92 degrees. The warm air will come with low afternoon humidity Monday, while southerly winds begin bringing in more moisture later in the week.

Scattered Storms Could Arrive Wednesday

Wednesday stays hot, with a high near 92 degrees and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. The better chance for rain is expected north of Interstate 40, and forecasters are not anticipating severe weather at this point.

Thursday looks sunny and warm again, with a high near 91 degrees, giving Memphis one more blast of heat before the pattern finally changes. Wednesday night could bring a few lingering showers or storms before skies clear.

Cold Front Brings Fall By Friday

A cold front is expected to move through late Thursday into Friday, dropping the high to around 74 degrees under mostly sunny skies. North winds of 10 to 20 mph could make the change feel even more noticeable, especially after several days in the low 90s.

Friday night falls to about 49 degrees, followed by a sunny Saturday with a high near 67 and a low around 46. Sunday rebounds to a more comfortable 74 degrees, making the weekend look far more like fall than the start of the week.
