Metallica is coming back to Cleveland for the first time since 2019. The thrash-metal giants will play Huntington Bank Field on June 15, 2027, bringing Limp Bizkit and Avatar along as support acts for a single-night, in-the-round production.
Tickets for the Cleveland date went on sale to the general public on September 25, 2026, according to Cleveland.com, which says Ticketmaster inventory could become scarce or sell out. Fans still hunting for seats can also check secondary markets like Vivid Seats, which offers purchase protections and $20 off orders over $200 with the code CLEVELAND20; TicketNetwork, which maintains its own resale inventory with buyer guarantees and 15 percent off a next order with code TIXDEAL15; and StubHub, which lists tickets from individual sellers backed by its FanProtect guarantee.
The Cleveland date lands at a venue that has been through a rebrand of its own. The Browns' lakefront home reverted to Cleveland Browns Stadium after FirstEnergy's sponsorship was terminated amid a state bribery scandal, then was renamed Huntington Bank Field under a 20-year naming rights deal with the Columbus-based bank signed on September 3, 2024, according to Ideastream Public Media.
Eight Years Since Metallica's Last Cleveland Stop
Metallica last played Cleveland in 2019. The band will return to the city for an outdoor stadium show in 2027.
The M72 World Tour format itself has changed since those earlier WorldWired dates. Earlier legs of the M72 tour often featured two-night “No Repeat Weekends,” while the 12-city spring 2027 North American run consists strictly of single-night stadium dates, Cleveland included.
Metallica enters the 2027 run fresh off a sold-out residency. The band's “Life Burns Faster” engagement at the Sphere in Las Vegas runs from October 1, 2026, through March 13, 2027 — a 24-performance stand that made Metallica the first heavy metal act to headline the high-tech venue, according to the Ticketmaster Blog. Since launching in April 2023 behind the 72 Seasons album, the M72 World Tour has logged 99 concerts across 26 countries and drawn nearly 5 million attendees before this North American extension was even added.
The Full 12-City Route to Cleveland
Cleveland is the 11th of 12 stops on the newly announced leg. The run opens May 8, 2027, at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, and stops in San Diego's Snapdragon Stadium, El Paso's Sun Bowl Stadium, San Antonio's Alamodome, Fayetteville's Razorback Stadium, Raleigh's Carter-Finley Stadium on June 2, Kansas City's GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Indianapolis's Lucas Oil Stadium on June 5, Buffalo's Highmark Stadium on June 8, and Madison's Camp Randall Stadium on June 12, before Cleveland's June 15 date. The tour concludes at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on June 19, 2027. Hoodline has previously covered the Kansas City stop.
Every stadium date on the run will feature the same in-the-round staging Metallica has used throughout the M72 tour, with the stage positioned near midfield and a standing-room area known as the snake pit built into its center. Snake pit access lets fans get closer to the band than almost anyone else in the building.
Ticket Proceeds Tied to Local Charity
Every ticket sold on the tour also carries a philanthropic component. Through Metallica's non-profit All Within My Hands Foundation, established in 2017, a portion of proceeds from each M72 World Tour ticket goes to the foundation or local charities.
What Ohio Buyers Should Know About Resale Fees
In November 2025, Ohio legislators introduced House Bill 563, which would mandate upfront all-in price transparency and prohibit deceptive use of logos, names and website designs by third-party resellers, according to CreativeOhio.
Federal Trade Commission rules on ticket pricing took effect in May 2025, per the Ohio Attorney General's office.
