Minneapolis is waking Saturday to clear skies and another unusually warm October morning, with temperatures around 63 degrees. The city could reach 75 before a cold front brings a chance of rain showers later in the afternoon.
Saturday Starts Warm, Then Turns Showery
Most of Saturday should stay mostly sunny, with southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph. Showers are possible during the afternoon, with a 40% chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Saturday night brings a chance of showers and a low near 47 degrees as winds turn northwesterly.
Sunday Brings The Fall Reset
Sunday will feel much more seasonal, with a high near 54 under mostly cloudy skies. A few showers are possible Sunday, followed by a quieter but cool afternoon with light north winds.
Rain chances increase Monday, when showers are likely and the high reaches only the 40s. A swath of 1 to 1.5 inches is most likely along the low track from central Nebraska through eastern South Dakota into far western Minnesota, and more showers are expected Monday night as temperatures fall to around 41.
Rain Chances Continue Into Midweek
Tuesday stays mostly cloudy with rain showers likely and a high near 57, followed by another chance of showers Tuesday night. Wednesday could bring a few more showers before a partly sunny afternoon near 62, while Thursday currently looks like the week’s brightest day, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 56.
The wetter outlook is a substantive update from Hoodline’s previous Minneapolis forecast, which focused on the weekend shower chance; the latest forecast now carries repeated rain chances through Wednesday. No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted for Minneapolis.
