Belianis Archeval, a 14-year-old Springfield girl who left home early Saturday morning, has been found, according to an update reported by WWLP. Police had earlier asked the public to help locate her.
WWLP reported that police were looking for Archeval after she left home at around 8 a.m. Saturday. She had not been located when the initial report was published.
Police Concern About Medical Attention
Police said Archeval might need immediate medical attention, according to WWLP-22News. The report did not say whether she ultimately needed care.
The initial appeal asked people with information to contact Springfield Police, as WWLP-22News reported. The circumstances of Archeval’s disappearance have not been detailed.
Search Ends With Teen Located
An update to the original report confirmed the search had ended: “UPDATE: The teen has been located,” WWLP-22News reported via WWLP-22News. No further details were immediately available about where or when she was found, or whether she was reunited with family.
Alert Criteria and Missing-Child Data
WWLP reported that Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh described Massachusetts AMBER Alert criteria as requiring that a child be 17 or younger and known to have been abducted, be in danger of serious harm, and have enough descriptive information for an alert to help locate them. A local police appeal for help does not establish whether an AMBER Alert was issued or whether the criteria applied in Archeval’s case, according to WWLP-22News. Nationally, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children says it assisted with 32,167 missing-child cases in 2025 and reports that 90% of those children were recovered. Those figures are national and do not indicate a trend in Springfield, according to NCMEC.
