Tandem Pilates & Yoga is targeting a December 1 grand opening at 620 Primrose Street in Haverhill, contingent on final renovations and other preparations. The planned studio is a venture by Nicole Fields and her mother, Leanne Durham.

The planned program ranges from group mat classes to smaller, equipment-based sessions, according to What Now Boston. Group offerings will include Classical Pilates, Pilates x Strength, Tandem Flow, and Sculpt & Flow. Private and semi-private apparatus sessions are also planned, using a mat, reformer, tower, and Wunda Chair. Formats will include one-on-one instruction, reformer duets for two, and reformer trios capped at three participants.

The studio is planned to have a bright, fully pink interior. Fields and Durham told the same outlet they hope to create a welcoming place where clients feel connected and supported.

What local activity data can—and can’t—show

According to Boston 25 News, 77.6% of Essex County adults reported some physical activity in a survey administered in 2021. That countywide figure does not establish activity levels in Haverhill or show whether they differ from Massachusetts overall, and it is not evidence of demand for Tandem.

A Limited-Time Deal for Early Members

Tandem plans to offer 15 founding memberships at $149 per month for life, below the regular $169 monthly rate. The offer ends when all 15 spots are filled, according to the report.

The founding package includes unlimited mat classes, a lifetime 10% discount on merchandise, and one guest pass each month, the outlet reports.

Haverhill's Growing Studio Scene

Tandem isn't the only new name trying to carve out space in Haverhill's boutique fitness market. PulseHaus Studios, a boutique Pilates studio in downtown Haverhill, had targeted an August 2026 opening and describes itself on its own site as a space designed for women to return some of that care, strength, and energy to themselves.

Reformer-focused btone FITNESS has also been building toward a Haverhill debut, advertising a pre-opening special for its studio in Rivers Edge Plaza, where it says free parking is available in the plaza lot. The btone website notes it provides childcare during some Haverhill classes and says it is still interviewing instructors to round out its team, according to btone FITNESS.

Meanwhile, HOTWORX runs an existing Haverhill location at 400 Lowell Avenue, Suite 5, offering 24-hour access to virtually instructed infrared sauna workouts, as reported by HOTWORX. That studio advertises 30-minute HOT Yoga and HOT Pilates sessions capped at up to three members per session, giving Haverhill fitness-goers yet another small-group option as the city's studio lineup fills out.
