Detroit is starting Thursday with temperatures in the lower to middle 40s, but the chilly opening is a prelude to a nearly 68-degree afternoon. Patchy fog is possible before 9 a.m.; after that, sunshine takes over, with no rain expected.
Sunshine Takes Over After A Foggy Start
According to National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, Thursday’s wind will turn north and stay light as high pressure builds behind a departing weak surface trough, while temperatures climb through the 50s and into the upper 60s. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Detroit or the surrounding Great Lakes waters.
Friday Fog Gives Way To A Mild Weekend
Friday morning brings the better chance for patchy fog, especially before 9 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 65. Saturday should follow with another sunny day near 64 degrees, while Sunday warms to around 68 with light winds and no rain in the forecast.
Monday remains mostly sunny near 65 before clouds and cooler temperatures arrive Tuesday and Wednesday, when highs are expected around 57 and 60. That extends and sharpens Hoodline’s earlier Detroit forecast, with Friday morning now standing out as the main visibility wrinkle in an otherwise easy stretch for commutes and outdoor plans.
