A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after being shot in Northeast Baltimore, according to police. Officers responded to a reported shooting and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound before medics rushed him to an area hospital for treatment.
Baltimore police said the man was hospitalized after being shot in Northeast Baltimore on Saturday afternoon, according to WBFF / Fox45 News. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3200 block of W. Overlea Avenue, where they located the 25-year-old victim suffering from the apparent gunshot wound. His medical condition remained unknown as of the station's report.
Police Correct the Shooting's Location
The station's initial report identified the shooting location as the 3200 block of Cedonia Avenue, but the article was later updated to reflect a Baltimore Police Department correction placing the shooting in the 3200 block of W. Overlea Avenue instead. Both versions trace back to the same outlet, and the discrepancy appears to stem from the location correction itself rather than from conflicting police accounts.
Northeast District detectives are requesting information from the public as they continue looking into the shooting, per the same report. Anyone with information has been asked to call Northeast District detectives at 410-396-2444 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
Part of a Mixed Pattern of Recent Violence
The shooting comes amid a string of violent incidents in the same part of the city. Earlier in October, a 39-year-old man died and two 21-year-old men were wounded in a shooting on Belair Road in Northeast Baltimore, according to The Baltimore Sun. Separately, a Baltimore police officer shot and critically injured an armed man near a Northeast Baltimore shopping center after the man pointed a gun at the officer, as reported by CBS Baltimore.
Those incidents stand against a broader citywide trend that city officials have pointed to in recent months. As of September 30, carjackings were down 38%, burglaries were down 17%, and total robberies were down 11% compared with the same point in 2025, with the Baltimore Police Department also reporting it had seized more than 1,526 firearms so far this year, according to a statement from BaltimoreCity.gov. An earlier mid-year report from the Baltimore Police Department had also shown homicides down 23% as of July 1, with 50 recorded in 2026 compared with 65 over the same span in 2025.
No suspect description, motive, or weapon information has been released in connection with Saturday's shooting. The investigation remains active, and detectives have not said whether any arrests have been made.
