The NYPD is asking the public for help identifying a person wanted in connection with a burglary.
The department shared a Crime Stoppers post on Facebook titled simply, “Wanted For Burglary.” The post asks for information about the individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or to submit a tip through the Crime Stoppers website or @NYPDTips on X. Spanish speakers can also dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
A Pattern of Similar Alerts Across the Area
The NYPD has circulated other burglary alerts in recent months. Back in July, Hoodline reported that detectives had linked 11 commercial burglaries to the same suspected burglar across six precincts — the 76th, 77th, 78th, 79th, 83rd and 94th. A separate pattern cited in that same report involved two unidentified men wanted in connection with 19 Brooklyn business burglaries reported between August 3 and September 10 across 16 neighborhoods. The report said it was unclear whether its Wednesday alert was connected to those earlier patterns.
That 19-incident pattern was also detailed by News 12 Long Island, which reported that two unidentified individuals allegedly gained entry into commercial establishments by throwing an object through a window, then removed money and other property before fleeing. No injuries were reported in any of those incidents, the outlet noted.
Other Burglary Patterns Playing Out Citywide
Commercial break-ins have cropped up in several forms across the city this fall. FOX 5 New York reported that the NYPD sought the public's help identifying two men connected to a string of commercial vehicle burglaries across multiple boroughs in August and September, accusing the pair of stealing more than $79,000 in equipment and vehicle parts from parked work vehicles before escaping in a black Honda Accord each time.
Burglary Numbers Trending Down Citywide
Despite the string of individual alerts, overall burglary complaints have actually fallen across New York City this year. Citywide burglary complaints dropped 14.4% year over year, to 7,717 through September 13, compared with 9,010 during the same period in 2025, Hoodline previously reported.
For anyone who may recognize the person wanted in connection with the burglary, police are urging them to come forward through the Crime Stoppers tip lines listed above.
