Oklahoma City is starting Friday under a blanket of clouds, with north winds already making the morning feel more like fall. Scattered showers could add a damp wrinkle to the day before a much warmer, sunnier pattern takes over next week.
Forecasts from the National Weather Service call for a 20% chance of precipitation before 1 p.m. Friday. The high should reach about 70 degrees, with north-northeast winds around 14 mph and gusts up to 21 mph.
Showers Linger Into Saturday
Patchy fog may make for a murky start in parts of central Oklahoma, though visibility should improve as cooler, drier air and stronger northerly winds move in. Friday night will stay mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers after 1 a.m. and a low near 58 degrees.
Saturday brings another chance of showers before 1 p.m., along with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 73 degrees. No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for the Oklahoma City area, but a brief heavy downpour is possible with any stronger shower.
Sunny And Warmer By Sunday
The weekend turns the corner Sunday, when skies should become mostly sunny and temperatures climb to around 82 degrees. Monday stays sunny with another high near 82, followed by highs around 84 Tuesday and 87 Wednesday.
By Thursday, Oklahoma City could be pushing 89 degrees under sunny skies. The forecast calls for dry conditions through the middle of next week, a sharp turnaround from Friday’s chilly clouds and scattered rain.
