A 41-year-old Omaha man was sentenced to 55 to 75 years in Nebraska state prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. He has also received a 30-year federal prison sentence for producing child pornography. Beams was found guilty of sexually assaulting the girl in Douglas County District Court.

The sheriff’s office helped serve a warrant at Beams’s Omaha residence after reports of abuse.

Images and videos of abuse were found on Beams's cell phone.

A Former Police Sergeant's Home at the Center of the Case

The Omaha house where Beams lived and where the abuse occurred belonged to Christy Stevens, a retired Omaha Police sergeant who was herself arrested in May 2025.

The investigation also implicated a third man. Court records indicate Beams introduced the 15-year-old victim to Aaron Vance, a 61-year-old lifetime registered sex offender and former ice cream truck driver, who was separately charged with sexual assault of a minor in connection with the same investigation, according to a report from Omaha News Today.

Two Courts, Two Sentences, Decades Apart

Beams was ordered to pay a $2,500 assessment under the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act.

The federal case was prosecuted under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that pairs federal prosecutors with the FBI and local sheriff's offices to combat child sexual exploitation, per the same agency.

As The Grand Island Independent reported, Beams was found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenage girl in Douglas County District Court.

State and Federal Sentences

Beams received a 55-to-75-year state sentence.

The 15-year-old victim was interviewed during the investigation.
