David Pardinas, 39, was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for distributing child sexual abuse material, according to the Department of Justice. He must also serve a lifetime of supervised release after prison and pay $9,000 in restitution, WOWT reported.
How the sentence compares
For national context, the U.S. Sentencing Commission reported an average sentence of 118 months for individuals sentenced for child pornography in fiscal year 2025.
The Justice Department said the case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide department effort. WOWT reported that the FBI received an online tip about Pardinas in December 2024.
Pardinas was convicted in Hall County in 2020 of third-degree sexual assault of a child, WOWT reported. The outlet also reported that investigators found more than 200 items of child sexual abuse material on his email and social media accounts and that he traded and shared material with other people online.
