Omaha woke to clear skies and temperatures near 50 degrees early Saturday, with a mostly sunny day ahead. The high should reach about 70 degrees, giving residents a comfortable window for fall errands, outdoor plans and perhaps one last patio appearance before the season gets serious.
Sunny Saturday Brings A Breezy Afternoon
South winds will run 5 to 10 mph Saturday, with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. A front is expected to move through during the afternoon or evening, but rain chances remain close to zero; the National Weather Service says any spotty shower would be unlikely, with chances around 5%.
Saturday night stays clear, with temperatures falling to about 54 degrees. Winds should turn west and ease, setting up a cooler but still quiet start to Sunday.
Cooler Sunday, Then A Warm-Up
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 67 degrees and light north winds. Sunday night could be the chilliest stretch of the forecast, with a low around 47 before Monday rebounds to roughly 68 degrees under more sunshine.
The week then trends warmer and remains mostly dry. Highs are forecast near 74 degrees Tuesday, 75 Wednesday and Thursday, and 76 Friday, while overnight lows mostly settle in the 50s, according to the National Weather Service Omaha/Valley.
Flooding Remains A Regional Concern
The pleasant forecast does not erase ongoing water concerns across the region. The weather service says flooding will continue on some rivers, creeks and streams in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa through the weekend and possibly into early next week, so residents near low-lying areas should continue following local advisories.
