Orlando is getting a sunny, breezy reset Wednesday, with temperatures climbing from the low 60s early to about 81 degrees by afternoon. North winds of 10 to 15 mph may gust to 25 mph, keeping the day comfortable but noticeably blustery.
The National Weather Service in Melbourne expects mostly dry conditions around the city, with only a very small rain chance. Areas closer to the Atlantic coast could see a few fast-moving showers, especially south of Cape Canaveral.
Dry Conditions And Cooler Nights Continue
Wednesday night should be dry, with temperatures falling to around 61 degrees and northeast winds decreasing to 5 to 10 mph, perhaps a little higher at the coast. Thursday and Friday stay sunny, with highs near 79 and overnight lows around 60 to 65 degrees.
The forecast marks a calmer stretch after the unsettled pattern tracked in Hoodline’s Monday update, but the wind is not going away for long. By Friday afternoon, gusts could approach 30 mph, especially in more exposed areas.
Weekend Winds Bring Beach And Boating Risks
Saturday brings a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., followed by a partly cloudy night. Northeast winds could reach 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Sunday may bring gusts as high as 40 mph and a 30% chance of showers. Gusty conditions may continue into early next week.
The bigger concern will be along Central Florida’s Atlantic coast, where strong onshore winds could produce dangerous surf, life-threatening rip currents, beach erosion and minor coastal flooding. Offshore seas may build to 12 to 15 feet late Saturday, making boating conditions particularly hazardous.
Beachgoers should stay out of the water when red flags or other warnings are posted, and boaters should check marine conditions before heading out. For Orlando residents, the practical takeaway is simpler: Wednesday through Friday offer the best outdoor window, while the weekend looks increasingly windy from the city to the coast.
