Construction of PF Meat Co.’s planned third retail location is targeted for completion in March 2027, according to Upstate Business Journal. The shop is planned for 522 N. Main St., where the street meets Calhoun Street in downtown Anderson. The company’s existing stores are in Pendleton and Toccoa, Georgia, according to the company’s website.

March 2027 is a construction-completion target, not an announced opening date. The Anderson Observer reported that the owners have not set an opening date. Earlier Observer coverage said the company hoped to open the Anderson shop by July but did not identify the year, so that reference cannot be reliably compared with the March 2027 construction target. The difference remains unexplained.

Plans reported for the Anderson store include a butcher case, grab-and-go food and take-and-bake items, according to the Observer. Those are expected features of the new location; they should not be taken as confirmation that its final offerings or format will be identical to the Pendleton shop.

PF Meat Co. began with custom beef and pork processing for local producers before expanding into retail, the Observer reported. The company says it works with more than 100 local and regional farms and family businesses on its website. That figure describes the company’s broader operation, not confirmed suppliers or products for the Anderson store.

Food-safety approval

Before opening, a new facility must receive a permit from the South Carolina Department of Agriculture’s Retail Food Safety Department, according to the South Carolina Department of Agriculture. The department says it inspects approximately 24,000 food-related facilities statewide.
