Pierce County Sheriff's deputies are asking the public for help tracking down a man accused of breaking into a woman's home, striking her, threatening to kill her, and then binding and robbing her earlier this month. The man sought is 32-year-old Manbir Singh Chahal, who remains at large following the Oct. 16 home invasion.
What Deputies Say Happened
According to thenewstribune.com, Chahal is accused of entering the victim's house, striking her in the face, threatening to kill her, then binding and robbing her. An arrest warrant has since been issued on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping, the outlet reports. Deputies are now asking for the public's help finding him, according to the same account.
As KIRO 7 News Seattle reports, Pierce County Sheriff's Office deputies are seeking the 32-year-old man in connection with the home invasion robbery. Per the station's account, the suspect is accused of breaking into the woman's home before threatening to kill her, binding her and robbing her.
A Separate DUI Warrant Also Outstanding
Beyond the kidnapping and robbery allegations, Chahal also has an unrelated warrant for a DUI, per the newspaper's report. The station's reporting similarly notes that the suspect has an unrelated DUI warrant on file, though it is not connected to the home invasion case.
The Crime Stoppers post describes Chahal as 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, the newspaper notes. Authorities say he might be driving a gold minivan with an unknown plate in the Tacoma and Lakewood area, though they have not identified the vehicle's license plate number.
How to Submit a Tip
Anyone with information on Chahal's whereabouts is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip through the P3 Tips app, at tpcrimestoppers.com, or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS, per the same report. The case remains an active search, with detectives continuing to rely on tips from residents in the Tacoma and Lakewood area who may have spotted the suspect or his vehicle.
