Portland Police put out a public call Wednesday, asking anyone who recognizes a man wanted in connection with a robbery to come forward. The post used the phrase “Can You ID Me?”
Other Public Appeals
The notice, shared on X by Portland Police
The notice seeks the public's help in identifying a suspect in a robbery. Anyone with information relevant to an active emergency is directed to call or text 911, while tips on this or other non-urgent matters can go to the bureau's general line at 503-823-3333.
A related Portland Police webpage tied to the bureau's ongoing “Can You ID Me?” identification effort lists a robbery case numbered 24-200177, handled by Det. Raelynn McKay, according to a portlandoregon.gov page describing people as persons of interest in a robbery case. It is not established whether that case number corresponds to the suspect named in Wednesday's post, and the two should not be treated as the same investigation without further confirmation from the bureau.
A Pattern of Public Appeals This Year
The bureau has made other public appeals in 2026. In March, the department asked for help identifying a suspect tied to a series of robberies targeting convenience stores, according to a Portland.gov release.
The bureau has issued public requests for tips in robbery investigations.
A Separate Beaverton Robbery Remains Unsolved
The timing of this week's appeal lands just a day after a very different — and unrelated — robbery attempt rattled a Beaverton convenience store. Beaverton Police said officers were called to a 7-Eleven on NW 158th Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday after a man displayed a handgun and demanded cash, according to KATU. The clerk refused to hand over money, and the suspect ran off, the station reported.
Officers described the man as thin, about 5-foot-8, and wearing a black hoodie with black basketball shorts, per the same account. A separate report from KPTV placed the attempted robbery at about 7:16 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 75 Northwest 158th Avenue, and said officers deployed drones in addition to setting up a perimeter around the store. Despite the search, officers were unable to locate the suspect; KATU reported that the perimeter effort lasted about two hours before being called off. Anyone with information on the Beaverton case is asked to call Beaverton Police at 503-629-0111 and reference case number 26-2930191.
