Professional Bull Riders is bringing its brand of eight-second chaos back to San Diego for the first time in more than a decade, with two nights of bull riding set for Pechanga Arena early next year. The shows land Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027, marking a long-awaited return for a city that hasn't hosted the organization's touring circuit in years.

The San Diego stop is part of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour. Tickets for the two-night stand are scheduled to go on sale Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026. PBR's San Diego event will feature bull riding.

A Tour That Spans 19 States

The San Diego dates are just two stops on a much larger circuit. The 2027 Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour features 26 regular-season events spread across 19 states, according to PBR. Including a two-day championship finale, the campaign adds up to 55 total event days. The same PBR announcement notes the tour marks a return to San Diego for the first time since 2015.

The season kicks off well before the bulls reach Pechanga Arena. PBR's 2027 schedule opens Dec. 4-5 in Buffalo, New York, per the tour announcement, before working its way toward a finale set for April 30-May 1 at the Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

From a $1,000 Bet to a Global Broadcast Empire

PBR's roots trace back to 1992, when 20 bull riders each put in $1,000 of their own money hoping to build a show that could draw mainstream attention, per the organization's website as cited by FOX 5 San Diego & KUSI News. That bet paid off: PBR now calls itself one of the world's largest bull riding organizations, with more than 800 riders holding memberships around the globe.

The organization is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and has built a broadcast footprint that reaches more than 405 million households across more than 91 territories, according to PBR. In the U.S. alone, broadcasts reached more than 30 million unique viewers in 2025, and the organization says it welcomed more than 1.5 million fans to its live events that same year.

Corporate Backing and Fan Experiences

PBR has lined up partnerships with major brands including Monster Energy, Ram Trucks and Cooper Tires, among other corporate sponsors, per the organization's own site. Those partnerships have helped PBR award more than $15 million annually. Its ticketing page also lists premium add-ons at its events — including behind-the-scenes access, bull housing tours, chute seats and dirt suites for fans who want to get closer to the action.

For larger groups, PBR says those bringing 10 or more people to an event can access discounted tickets, block seating, a dedicated account manager and early reservations. Specific pricing, seating details and show times for the San Diego dates have not been released.

The last time PBR's touring circuit rolled through San Diego was 2015, making the February 2027 dates a return more than a decade in the making for local fans of the sport. Pechanga Arena's events calendar will likely be the place to watch for additional details as the shows draw closer.
