Cincinnati starts Friday warm and mostly clear, but that brief summerlike feel will not last. Rain showers move in this morning, temperatures slide through the afternoon, and the region settles into a much cooler pattern by evening.
Rain Arrives Friday Morning
Showers are expected to become widespread from about 8 a.m. through early afternoon, with the steadiest rain falling late morning into midday. The high should reach about 71 degrees before temperatures drop to the mid-60s, and rainfall totals could reach one-half to three-quarters of an inch.
Winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest and north at roughly 6 to 9 mph as a slow-moving front passes. Roads may be slick during the morning commute and into lunchtime, though no weather watches or warnings are posted for the Cincinnati-area counties in Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana.
Sunny Weekend Brings A Reset
Friday night will stay mostly cloudy with a low near 52, then Saturday turns sunny and cooler with a high around 68. Sunday brings mostly sunny skies and a milder 74 degrees, according to National Weather Service, making it the warmer and more comfortable half of the weekend for outdoor plans.
Chilly Nights Arrive Next Week
Clear, dry weather continues Monday and Tuesday, but afternoon highs remain in the 60s. Overnight lows could fall to around 43 degrees Monday night and Tuesday night, cold enough for patchy frost in some outlying spots before temperatures moderate again later in the week.
