A woman and a man were injured in a shooting in the Raleigh neighborhood Monday night, Memphis police said. Officers responded to the 2736 block of Warford Street around 8 p.m. and found a woman who had been shot.
According to FOX13 Memphis, the woman was taken to a hospital and listed in non-critical condition. A man also arrived at a hospital after being shot, police said, and he too was listed in non-critical condition. It remains unclear how the man got to the hospital or whether he was found at the Warford Street scene.
No suspect description, weapon, or motive has been released in connection with the Warford Street shooting, and police have not said what led to the gunfire.
Conflicting Reports Muddy the Timeline
Separate reporting on Monday's Raleigh violence does not line up cleanly with the Warford Street account. WREG reported that officers responded to a shooting near Coleman Road and Hoover Drive just before 2 p.m., hours earlier than the Warford Street call, and that one man was transported to the hospital in critical condition in that incident. A different WREG report, by contrast, described a man and a woman hospitalized and recovering after a Monday afternoon Raleigh shooting, language that echoes the Warford Street case but does not specify a location.
WREG said the investigation remained ongoing.
Pattern of Shootings in the Neighborhood
Raleigh has seen repeated shooting investigations through 2026. In September, the Memphis Police Department said a man was seriously injured in a shooting in the 4700 block of Bluff Wood Cove, prompting a search for a gunman reportedly on a bicycle, per a FOX13 Memphis search-result snippet. In August, another FOX13 Memphis snippet described gunfire in the neighborhood leaving a man seriously injured. And in April, the Memphis Police Department said officers responded to a shooting in the 3100 block of Raleigh Millington Road around 9:50 a.m.
A separate shooting in the 4200 block of Windermere Road left a man critically injured after officers responded around 9:09 p.m. on a Saturday night, FOX13 Memphis reported. Police said preliminary information suggested that incident followed a three-car crash that led to an argument. A December 2024 WREG report also described a man and a woman hospitalized and recovering after a Raleigh shooting, a nearly identical description to Monday's case but from a different year.
No names, ages, or further details about the people hurt in Monday's Warford Street shooting have been released. Police have not said whether the shooting happened inside a home, outside, or at a business, and the investigation remains open.
