Traffic impacts are expected around Revere Beach Boulevard as runners in Halloween costumes take over the shoreline for the annual Pumpkin Dash 5K, with road closures and rolling delays around the race course. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at 220 Revere Beach Boulevard, with the Kids Fun Run starting at 10:45 a.m. and the main 5K road race kicking off at 11:15 a.m.

The race is organized by the Revere Beach Partnership, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has worked since 2001 to preserve and program the Revere shoreline, according to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council.

Warm-Ups, Costumes and a DJ at the Starting Line

Before the race begins, The Point Barre and Yoga Studio will lead a pre-race warm-up at the base of the Markey Bridge.

The pedestrian landmark anchoring the event's pre- and post-race activities is the Christina and John Markey Memorial Pedestrian Bridge, a 151-foot cable-stayed span that opened in 2013 to connect the MBTA Wonderland Station garage to Revere Beach over Ocean Avenue, according to Wikipedia. Wonderland Station is a rapid-transit and bus station.

Post-Race Party Spreads Across the Boardwalk

Once runners cross the finish line, the celebration shifts to Fine Line Revere, a restaurant, bar and pub with a full bar, according to Eventective. Live music is scheduled there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the venue will run a beer garden for guests 21 and older. Runners of legal drinking age get one drink included with their registration, and Fine Line will also operate a full cash bar for everyone else.

Families have plenty to do too. A free kids' pumpkin patch, open to children 12 and under while supplies last, and free cookie decorating for the same age group both run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. across from the Markey Bridge. The Revere Beach Partnership's event page also lists a live giant pumpkin carving demonstration running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fine Line, adding another attraction for families waiting out the race.

Registration pricing for 2026 was tiered on Race Roster, starting at $34.09 and climbing to $44.79 for the 5K, while the Kids Costume Fun Run was priced at $12.69. Separately, the Massachusetts Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is holding a volunteer beach cleanup along Revere Beach Boulevard from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, ahead of the race crowds. Event attendees are advised to use caution, watch for runners on the roadway, and build in extra travel time given the rolling closures throughout the morning.
