A Boston 25 News photographer's video showed a Honda Pilot SUV cordoned off with yellow tape, along with what appeared to be a motorcycle near a guardrail, and the station reported that investigators shut down a stretch of the roadway while they worked the scene.
The Revere Police Criminal Investigation Division and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash, per the same NBC Boston report. No charges, citations or determination of fault had been reported as of Friday.
A String of Recent Motorcycle Fatalities
The Revere crash is the latest in a string of fatal motorcycle wrecks across Massachusetts this fall. In Northampton's Florence section, 21-year-old Daemon Ackerman died after his motorcycle collided with a small cluster of trees near 564 Burts Pit Road, according to MassLive, which reported that first responders were called to that crash around 7:45 p.m. and that a preliminary investigation found Ackerman was riding east when he struck the trees. In August, a 23-year-old man died in a single-motorcycle crash in Wareham, with investigators reviewing what happened, WCVB reported at the time.
Statewide, traffic deaths had been trending down before this latest crash, with Massachusetts recording 342 traffic deaths in 2025 compared with 364 the year before, according to MassDOT data cited by MassLive. Investigators in Revere have not released further information on what caused Friday's crash, and the identity of the man who died has not yet been made public.
