An 18-year-old Russell Springs man was airlifted to U.K. Medical Center Sunday morning after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at a rural intersection south of town. Nathan White was flown from the scene following the crash, which happened just after 9 a.m. about three miles south of Russell Springs.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Kentucky 379, also known as Hales Highway, French Valley Road and Blair School Road, according to lakercountry.com. White was riding a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle west on French Valley Road when he reached the intersection, Russell County Deputy Sheriff Nathan Bradshaw told WJRS News.
Bradshaw said White stopped at the stop sign before attempting to cross Hales Highway onto Blair School Road, where he struck a southbound Ford F-150. The pickup was driven by 63-year-old David Mann of Liberty, who was not injured in the collision, per the deputy's account relayed through the outlet's report.
Emergency Response and Airlift
EMS crews treated White at the scene before transporting him to the Russell County Airport, where he was flown by emergency helicopter to U.K. Medical Center for further treatment. The Russell Springs Fire Department also responded to assist at the scene, according to the same report.
The crash adds to a string of motorcycle collisions reported across Kentucky in recent days. Just one day before, a motorcyclist was airlifted to a Lexington hospital following a crash on Ringgold Road near Somerset, according to the Somerset Fire Department, as reported by wkyt.com. Earlier in the week, deputies with the Christian County Sheriff's Office responded to a separate motorcycle collision on KY 164, where one person was injured and airlifted to a hospital, per wbko.com.
A Stretch of Road With a Troubled History
Serious Crashes in Russell County Kentucky State Police investigated a fatal collision involving a motorcycle in Russell County in August 2025, according to wbko.com. wvlc.com also reported on the same August 29 two-vehicle collision on KY 379 in the county.
