A halal restaurant called Salaam Bros is throwing open its doors in Easton's West Ward this Saturday, and it's celebrating with free Nashville hot chicken sandwiches for anyone who shows up. The giveaway runs from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1300 Northampton St., with sandwiches available only until they run out.
The restaurant has not announced how many sandwiches it will give away; the offer ends when they run out, according to Lehigh Daily. In a promotional video, a speaker invited people to attend, saying, “No catch, bring your friends, family, and come see what we've been working on.” The report says the menu includes gyros, platters, smashburgers and Nashville hot chicken.
Two Names at One Address
Salaam Bros and Salaam Arabian Kitchen are both associated with the 1300 Northampton St. storefront: the older restaurant's website and Google page remain active, and Salaam Bros' Instagram profile links to the same Google listing. The Lehigh Daily report notes that Salaam Arabian Kitchen has served gyros and platters at the address since at least 2024. Public materials reviewed by the outlet do not establish whether Salaam Bros is replacing that name or operating alongside it.
Salaam Arabian Kitchen's own website describes its offerings in similar terms, noting that “our menu offers savory shawarmas, tender kebabs, hearty platters, fresh salads, and a variety of flavorful sides,” according to salaamarabiankitchen.com. The same site lists a $7.99 Salaam Burger and confirms takeout is available during regular business hours, though those regular hours themselves were not spelled out in the grand opening posts reviewed by the Lehigh Daily. Delivery orders can be placed directly through the restaurant's website, the site adds, and an online ordering page run by order.online identifies the business as “Salaam Bros ( Salaam Arabian Kitchen)” offering pickup and delivery at the same Northampton Street address.
What Public Records Show
State records show one Salaam business registered at 1300 Northampton St.: Salaam LLC, formed Feb. 14, 2025, with its principal office at that address, according to the Lehigh Daily. The records name Mohammad Ashraf as the LLC's governor and vice president. The outlet also reported that Google reviewers said the restaurant changed owners around 2025; those accounts are not a company statement.
The storefront has had other restaurant identities. The West Ward Community Initiative listed Lasheen's, a Mediterranean restaurant, in its neighborhood business directory in December 2020. The Lehigh Daily reports that a Dunkin' previously operated there and that Uber Eats still lists a closed Dunkin' at the address. In a TikTok video cited by the outlet, Salaam Bros said it turned the former Dunkin' into its current space.
A Separate West Ward Market Program
The West Ward Community Initiative lists a separate West Ward Market program at N. 12th and Northampton Streets in Easton, running from May 1 through Oct. 30, 2024. It was a market program, not a restaurant opening, and its listed location differs from Salaam Bros' 1300 Northampton St. address, according to the West Ward Community Initiative.
Building Buzz Online
Salaam Bros began posting TikTok videos in April, including a first post teasing “Easton coming soon,” and later shared videos promoting the opening, the Lehigh Daily reports. Its social posts use the tagline, “Every meal begins with Salaam.”
The restaurant's public materials reviewed for the opening do not list the regular price of Saturday's Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Diners will need to attend the giveaway to see what remains available once the sandwiches run out.
