A disagreement over a purchase at a business on San Antonio's South Side turned frightening just before 11 a.m. Saturday, when police say a suspect pulled a gun on a woman and threatened her before running off. The confrontation unfolded in the 1400 block of Commercial Avenue off I-35, leaving officers searching for a suspect they have not been able to describe.
According to WOAI, the suspect walked into the business and tried to buy some items before the situation soured. Police said what started as a simple transaction quickly spiraled into a verbal argument with a woman working or present at the business, and that argument turned physical.
Confrontation Escalates To A Firearm
That physical altercation is when things took a dangerous turn. Police said the suspect displayed a firearm and threatened the woman before fleeing the scene, according to the same report. No injuries were reported.
Beyond the sequence of events described by police, few other details have emerged. The outlet's reporting does not identify the business by name, nor does it offer any physical description of the suspect, leaving investigators and the public with a limited starting point for tracking him down.
Search For Suspect Continues
Police are still searching for the suspect accused of threatening a woman with a firearm at the South Side business, and as of the latest reporting, no description had been released to the public. That absence of identifying details means residents in the area have little to go on if they want to help authorities piece together who was involved.
The incident adds to a string of unsettling confrontations reported along Commercial Avenue in recent months. In September, Hoodline reported on a separate gunpoint robbery in the 3200 block of the same street, in which a man pointed a weapon at a female employee and demanded money before fleeing on foot. It is not established whether that earlier case is connected to Saturday's confrontation.
For now, the latest case remains an open investigation, with police offering no further updates on a suspect, a motive beyond the dispute over the purchase, or whether the firearm was recovered. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward as officers continue trying to identify the person responsible.
