A man walked into a business in the 3200 block of Commercial Avenue on San Antonio’s South Side, pointed a weapon at a female employee, and demanded money before running off on foot, leaving police to search for a suspect described only as being between 20 and 25 years old.

Officers responded to the reported robbery on the same block just before 1 a.m. Saturday, according to WOAI. By the time police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene, and he remains at large as investigators work to track him down.

Employee Unharmed After Gunpoint Demand

The employee was robbed at gunpoint at the South Side business, though police reported no injuries as a result of the encounter, per the same account. The suspect allegedly entered the business, aimed the weapon directly at the woman working there, and demanded cash before turning and running.

Police are now asking for help identifying and locating the man responsible, describing him only in broad terms as someone in his early twenties. No further physical description, business name, or amount of money taken has been released as the investigation continues, and it remains ongoing according to the report.

Other Robberies in San Antonio

Separate robberies have also been reported in San Antonio. In February, a suspect identified as 32-year-old Joshua Barron was accused of holding workers at gunpoint and stealing items in an incident later resolved with the help of community tips, according to a FOX San Antonio report. In a separate case reported by the San Antonio Express-News, police arrested a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old after an ATM worker said he had been robbed at a Chase bank on the South Side.

Other incidents in the area have involved even more serious weapons and charges. One robbery saw suspects rob a convenience-store clerk at gunpoint with one allegedly armed with an AR-15, as reported by KTXS. More recently, two men, Jose Garza Valencia and Levi Wayne Smith, were each charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, according to another FOX San Antonio account.

For now, the identity of the man who allegedly robbed the South Side employee remains unknown, and no arrest has been reported. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward as San Antonio police continue working to identify the suspect and determine what led to the confrontation.
