San Jose is starting Saturday clear and around 61 degrees, but the South Bay is headed for one more hot afternoon before fall finally takes over. Temperatures are expected to climb near 91 under sunny skies, followed by a sharp cooldown that drops the high to about 80 Sunday and 69 Monday.
One More Hot, Dry Afternoon
Saturday’s west-northwest winds should stay light to moderate, reaching about 8 mph, while dry air keeps humidity low away from the coast. The National Weather Service is warning of near-critical fire-weather conditions at higher elevations, so residents should use extra care with outdoor flames.
Saturday night will be clear, with temperatures falling to around 54 degrees. The latest outlook is a sharper update to the warm stretch covered by Hoodline Friday, with the weekend cooldown now arriving quickly across the South Bay.
Cooler, Windier Sunday
Sunday will remain sunny but noticeably cooler, with a high near 80 and northwest gusts reaching 18 mph. Monday looks mostly sunny and mild, with a high around 69 as the marine layer and more typical fall temperatures return.
Rain And Fog Arrive Midweek
Patchy fog and a slight chance of showers could develop early Tuesday, followed by a roughly 40% chance of rain during the day and a mostly cloudy high near 69. Wednesday brings another chance of light rain and patchy fog, with temperatures topping out around 71.
Thursday and Friday should turn mostly sunny again, although morning fog remains possible. Anyone heading to the Pacific Coast for a beach day should take extra care: the weather service has a Beach Hazards Statement through Sunday evening, with 7- to 12-foot breaking waves, sneaker-wave risks and strong rip currents possible.
