Sandy Springs police rescued an adult human-trafficking victim and placed three children into protective custody after a coordinated operation this week that led to four arrests, authorities said. The arrests happened at Morgan Falls Overlook Park in north Sandy Springs and in the Hammond Drive area further south, with charges ranging from sex trafficking and pimping to cruelty to children.
According to Rough Draft Atlanta, the operation was described by police as a coordinated human trafficking operation targeting individuals involved in sexual exploitation and related criminal activity. The outlet reported the investigation led to four arrests and the rescue of four victims total, with an adult rescued and three children placed into protective custody. WSB-TV reported that the Sandy Springs Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, Street Crimes Unit, K9 Unit, Narcotics and Vice Unit and Intelligence Unit all took part in the effort.
Eric Dejuan Lightfoot was charged with a felony for trafficking a person for sexual servitude, per the same Rough Draft Atlanta account. James Brandon faces a pimping charge, while Tamera La'Shay Brasby was charged with solicitation of a sexual act. Na'Kaya Delzora Jones faces the most charges of the group — prostitution, false statements, and three counts of cruelty to children in the second degree.
Booking Details and Charges Still Developing
Fulton County Jail records cited by Rough Draft Atlanta showed Lightfoot and Jones were booked Friday, Oct. 9, with an offense date of the day before. The report notes the Sandy Springs investigation remains active, and the police department has announced that it has no further details to release at this time.
Police said the charges resulting from this operation highlight the serious nature of human trafficking and crimes involving children. The department also said it remains committed to thoroughly investigating the offenses, protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring those responsible are held accountable through the criminal justice system.
Part of a Broader Enforcement Push
This is not the first time Sandy Springs police have targeted alleged trafficking and prostitution networks in the area. From Jan. 29 to Jan. 30, the department ran a joint operation with Dunwoody police dubbed Operation Sandy Springs Guardian, according to Fulton Neighbor, which reported that most of the eight arrests made that weekend happened at or near the Sonesta Atlanta Northwest Galleria hotel on Powers Ferry Road. All eight suspects in that case were charged with solicitation for an illicit sexual act, FOX 5 Atlanta reported, adding that such operations are ongoing as part of a mission to curb human trafficking in the North Fulton and DeKalb areas.
Sandy Springs police have also pursued trafficking suspected in other settings. A separate investigation known as Operation No Safe Haven led officers to execute search warrants at Pileo Therapy on Cliftwood Drive and Pearl Massage on Roswell Road, according to CBS News Atlanta, which reported that police shut down four massage businesses amid allegations of prostitution and trafficking. In a statement following the January sting, the department said it remains committed to proactive enforcement efforts aimed at combating human trafficking and keeping our community safe.
FOX 5 Atlanta separately reported that eight men were arrested in a joint counter-human-trafficking sting. No information has been released connecting that case to this week's arrests at Morgan Falls Overlook Park and Hammond Drive.
