The Savannah Bananas are coming back to Kauffman Stadium, with Banana Ball set to take over Kansas City for a third straight year on June 18 and 19, 2027. The barnstorming baseball-entertainment act will once again face off against the Indianapolis Clowns, and fans hoping to land tickets need to act fast — the lottery list to even get a shot at buying them closes October 31 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
According to KMBC, the Bananas sold out two games at Kauffman Stadium in both 2025 and 2026, and they’re hoping to make it three for three next summer. Game times and other details have not yet been announced, the station reports. Kauffman Stadium seats nearly 38,000 people, and both previous Kansas City series sold out completely, according to KSHB.
Getting on the lottery list is only step one. Per Banana Ball’s own ticket page, joining the list doesn’t guarantee the opportunity to buy tickets — a random drawing will take place before the event for the chance to purchase whatever’s available. The appeal, for anyone unfamiliar, is baked into the brand itself: Banana Ball games promise trick plays, dancing, singing, and more, with the organization telling fans to expect the unexpected.
A Tour Getting Bigger Every Year
The Kansas City stop is just two dates on what’s shaping up to be a massive slate. The 2027 schedule will be played at 79 stadiums, though accounts differ on the number of cities involved — Baseball America puts the figure at 75 cities, while WHSV reports 74. WHSV also notes the 2027 tour is expected to draw an estimated 4.3 million fans. That schedule will include 23 Major League Baseball stadiums and 10 football stadiums, the station reports.
For the first time, Banana Ball is also going international in 2027, with stops planned in Canada and Mexico, Baseball America notes. The expansion comes on the heels of a 2026 season in which the Bananas celebrated the 10th year of Banana Ball, per KMBC, and rolled out a six-team circuit while the flagship Bananas squad remained the main draw, according to the Sports Business Journal.
Sellouts Everywhere They Go
The numbers behind the phenomenon are staggering. The Bananas expect to play in front of 3.2 million fans across a 75-game World Tour spanning 45 states this year, the Sports Business Journal reports, up from roughly 2 million fans across a 72-game schedule in 2025. The outlet notes that virtually every game the team has played over the past decade — nearly 600 in all — has sold out.
Other stops on the circuit illustrate just how far the demand stretches. More than 140,000 fans turned out for a two-game series at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium over the Fourth of July weekend, per the same account. St. Louis is also becoming a regular tour stop: the Bananas will return to Busch Stadium for a third consecutive year in 2027, facing the Indianapolis Clowns on April 10 and 11, according to First Alert 4, after previous Busch Stadium dates in July 2025 and August 2026.
The team’s cultural footprint has grown alongside its attendance figures. The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown opened an exhibit dedicated to the Savannah Bananas in 2023, WHSV notes — a sign that what started as a novelty act has become something closer to an institution. For Kansas City fans, the practical takeaway is simpler: get on the lottery list before the end of the month, because a shot at tickets is the only thing on offer, and even that isn’t guaranteed.
