Larsen Gallery in Scottsdale just had its biggest auction yet, pulling in $3.6 million in sales. The gallery, which has spent more than three decades consigning fine art, reached a new high point for the business with its latest result.

The record-setting sale was reported by The Business Journals, which detailed the $3.6 million result. Scottsdale.com puts the gallery's lifetime auction sales at more than $25 million.

A Growing Twice-a-Year Tradition

Larsen Gallery has specialized in consigning fine art for more than 30 years and hosts its signature Larsen Art Auctions each April and October, according to the gallery's own website. That recurring schedule was echoed by liveauctioneers.com, which likewise describes the biannual April and October format as a fixture of the gallery's business.

The fall sale that produced these record numbers took place Oct. 17 at the Scottsdale gallery and featured 440 lots spanning contemporary, modern, Southwestern, Native American and Latin American art, per scottsdale.com's coverage. That same report described the event as the 21st installment of Larsen's biannual auction and its largest offering to date, with works from artists including Jesús Rafael Soto, Roberto Matta, Oswaldo Vigas, Françoise Gilot, Emily Mason and Beth Cavener featured in the mix.

Strong Sell-Through and International Reach

Larsen's own site notes that its 2026 Spring Auction carried a 94% sell-through rate. The gallery's April 2026 auction attracted buyers from more than 40 states and 20 countries, according to scottsdale.com, underscoring the national and international draw the auctions have built over time.

That kind of reach fits into a broader pattern playing out in Scottsdale's art market this year. The nearby Scottsdale Art Auction posted its own blockbuster spring result, with Arizona Digital Free Press reporting more than $16.5 million in total sales during its April 10-11 event.

Records Falling Across Scottsdale's Auction Scene

At that Scottsdale Art Auction, Will James's painting “Smoky and Clint” sold for $990,000, setting a new auction record for the artist. The same sale's leading lot, Nicolai Fechin's “Carmencita,” climbed to $1.02 million.
