A second woman has filed a lawsuit against Ronnie Goines, lead pastor of Arlington’s Koinonia Christian Church, alleging he groomed and sexually assaulted her twice last year. The woman says the assaults happened at Goines’ Mansfield home in August 2025 and later at her own home that September. Goines has denied the allegations.
According to KERA, the woman claims the assaults occurred “last August” at Goines’ Mansfield home and again the following month at her own residence, a timeline also detailed by Fort Worth Report. Goines told KERA, “I have never in my life done what this woman is accusing me of,” flatly rejecting the claims.
The lawsuit lays out a pattern that allegedly began with spiritual counseling. Per FOX 4, the petition alleges Goines began counseling the woman, telling her that God had guided her to him and that their interactions were part of God’s plan. The same report notes the lawsuit also accuses Koinonia Christian Church of negligent hiring, supervision and retention in connection with Goines’ conduct.
A Second Accusation Echoes an Earlier Case
This is not the first time Goines has faced claims like these. KERA reports that earlier in 2025, another woman sued him, alleging he sexually assaulted her on two occasions in 2023. A press summary from the plaintiff’s law firm, Bruster PLLC, describes that earlier claim as accusing Goines of abusing his pastoral position to groom and sexually assault her on two occasions.
That earlier lawsuit, detailed by the Dallas Morning News, alleged Goines groomed a church member before sexually assaulting her twice in 2023 and sought more than $1 million in damages. The 2025 suit named both Goines and Koinonia Christian Church and included claims of assault, negligence, fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil conspiracy and sexual exploitation, with the plaintiff seeking $1 million in damages, according to the Fort Worth Report’s earlier coverage.
Conflicting Accounts of the Criminal Case
The criminal proceedings tied to the 2023 allegations have been described differently across reports. The Fort Worth Report’s April 2025 coverage states that Goines’ indecent assault charge was dismissed through prosecutorial discretion, part of what that report described as charges being dropped. FOX 4 reported that a grand jury declined to indict Goines on both sexual-assault and indecency charges in 2025. The reports describe the proceedings differently.
Goines’ standing at the church has also shifted over the past two years. The Fort Worth Report has reported that he was removed from his pastoral position in August 2024 but returned to the pulpit that October.
What the New Lawsuit Alleges
The newest case against Goines adds a second accuser to a pattern already alleged in the earlier suit — a pastor using his religious authority during what the plaintiff describes as counseling, followed by assault. Both lawsuits name Koinonia Christian Church directly, with the Fort Worth Report noting that the current filing accuses the church of negligent hiring, supervision and retention, language mirroring the claims leveled in the 2025 case.
The newest lawsuit was filed in Dallas County. Neither the church’s formal response to the newest lawsuit nor further detail on the status of the earlier criminal case has been made public.
