A new self-serve Korean noodle shop is headed for Coolidge Corner, taking over a Beacon Street storefront just a few doors east of the Harvard Street intersection. The Ramyun Zip will let customers pick their own instant noodle package, dunk it under a hot water machine, and load it up with toppings like bean sprouts, fish cakes, scallions, and dumplings before sitting down to eat.
The Brookline shop is set to open at 1310 Beacon Street, and NBC Boston reports that it will also sell pre-made bowls alongside the build-your-own setup. The chain keeps a presence on Instagram at theramyunzip.boston.
The Chain's Expansion
The self-serve format lets customers prepare instant noodles on site. The chain has since spread across Virginia, North Carolina, California, and Nevada ahead of its Massachusetts debut, building out a library of more than 120 instant noodle varieties sorted by spice level and dietary need, according to the same report.
The shop also offers snacks and drinks.
A Storefront With a Recent Past
The Beacon Street space previously housed BARE Blends, which is now closed.
A Yemeni coffee shop packed the corner with cardamom lattes earlier this year.
Instant Noodles on the Menu
Instant noodles are the focus of The Ramyun Zip's self-serve menu.
