A Neighborhood With a Grim Precedent
The Strawberry community has seen gun violence before. In August 2014, two men were found dead from gunshot wounds in adjacent backyards in the Strawberry Manor neighborhood near Mill Valley, according to SFGate. Investigators at the time considered murder-suicide one possible explanation, and officials ultimately described those deaths as an isolated incident, saying no suspect was at large.
That earlier case offers no indication of what happened on Strawberry Circle this weekend, and nothing in the current investigation has tied the two incidents together. For now, the scope and cause of Sunday’s reported shooting remain unknown, and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional information publicly.
