McAllen is heading into a warm Thursday with a chance of showers. Rain chances rise overnight and linger into Thursday afternoon.
Showers Fade By Thursday Evening
Temperatures should fall to around 73 degrees overnight, with a slight chance of rain showers and light east-northeast winds. Thursday will reach about 87 degrees under partly sunny skies, with rain chances extending into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service Brownsville. Thursday night brings a low near 68 degrees.
Most showers are expected to be spotty, though heavier pockets remain possible across the Rio Grande Valley, particularly closer to the coast. The McAllen area could stay mostly manageable for errands and outdoor plans, but a quick downpour is possible during the daytime rain window.
Warm, Mostly Dry Weekend
Friday will be warm near 89, while Saturday stays mostly sunny with another high near 88 and a low chance of rain.
Sunday looks partly sunny with a high near 86, followed by another mostly sunny 87-degree day Monday. Rain chances return only slightly Tuesday and Wednesday, when scattered showers or thunderstorms could develop, but no watches, warnings or advisories are listed for the area.
Coastal Plans May Need Extra Attention
Anyone heading toward South Padre Island or the Lower Laguna Madre should note that a medium rip-current risk is expected to continue through Thursday afternoon. Beachgoers should check local conditions before entering the water and use extra caution near jetties, piers and channels.
