Six siblings from a home on Creston Road in Crossville have been missing since last Thursday, and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says it is concerned about their safety. The children, ranging in age from just 9 months old to 16 years old, were reportedly taken by their non-custodial parent, identified as Misty Ware, and investigators now believe she may be trying to cross into Mexico.
Children Taken From Creston Road Home
According to WVLT, the children were taken from a residence on Creston Road by their non-custodial parent, Misty Ware. The siblings have been reported missing since Oct. 22, and the sheriff's office says investigators are concerned for their safety and welfare. The six children range in age from 9 months to 16 years old, according to 3bmedianews.com, a wide span that has only heightened the urgency of the search for a family spread across so many stages of childhood.
Ware was last known to be traveling with the children in a red Chrysler Town & Country minivan, the sheriff's office said. Investigators believe she may be traveling toward Mexico, a destination that would take the family far beyond the jurisdiction where the search began. The station also reports that Ware has known ties to Cumberland County and Marion County, Tennessee, as well as the state of Georgia, giving investigators several possible directions to focus their efforts.
Physical Description and How to Help
Few identifying details about the six children have been released publicly, though authorities did note that all six children have brown hair and brown eyes, according to wdef.com. That outlet reports the sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to contact the department at 931-484-6176 and ask for Sgt. Thomas Henderson.
Anyone who spots the red minivan or has information on the family's whereabouts is urged to call 911 or reach out to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office directly. With a toddler not yet a year old among the six siblings and the possibility that the group could be headed out of the country, investigators are treating the case with urgency as they work to track down Ware and bring the children home safely.
