Oklahoma City is waking up to clear skies and temperatures around 57 degrees Thursday morning, but the afternoon will feel more like late summer than late October. Sunshine is expected to push the city to 79 degrees, with little chance of rain and generally light south winds.
Sunny Stretch Holds Through Saturday
The National Weather Service office in Norman expects another warm, dry day Friday, with a high near 79 and south winds reaching 12 mph, plus gusts as high as 21 mph. Saturday should stay mostly sunny with a high near 78, while overnight lows remain mild in the upper 50s to around 60.
The extended warmup is a modest upgrade from the earlier Hoodline outlook, which had Oklahoma City near 78 degrees by Thursday. In practical terms, the metro is getting several more days of comfortable outdoor weather before the forecast finally remembers it is October.
Rain Chances Stretch From Sunday Into Tuesday
Sunday remains fairly mild, with a high near 63. A system may bring showers and storms Sunday into Tuesday.
Rain chances extend through Tuesday, with the highest chances over western parts of the forecast area. Temperatures should move closer to normal Tuesday as cooler air settles in behind a front.
No Active Weather Alerts For Oklahoma City
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the metro. For Thursday and Friday plans, expect a cool start, warm afternoons and breezier conditions late Friday; a light layer should be enough for the morning and evening, while short sleeves may win the afternoon.
