Ramiro Herrejon Jr., 35, was arrested on warrants Oct. 2 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, both second-degree felonies, in connection with an alleged assault in South Laredo. He was booked into Webb County Jail and released the same day after posting two $50,000 bonds, according to Beaumont Enterprise.
Police say the incident was reported around 11:47 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 5700 block of Armando Hinojosa Lane. According to the report, Herrejon approached a man and a woman with a shotgun, then swung it and struck the man in the chin. Warrants were obtained five days later, the report said. The allegations have not been established in court.
A separate Webb County case offers limited context
A separate Laredo case shows one possible court outcome for a different defendant, not a prediction for Herrejon’s case. The Laredo Morning Times reported that Ricardo Eduardo Garcia Jr., in a case stemming from a July 2023 offense, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. On Sept. 18, he received four years on each count, to run concurrently with his federal sentence. The cases involve different defendants and circumstances; Garcia’s plea and sentence do not establish how the allegations against Herrejon will be resolved.
Key details remain unknown
The available reports do not say what sparked the alleged confrontation, what relationship, if any, Herrejon had with the two people, or whether investigators recovered the shotgun. The charge is an allegation, and the public account does not establish the outcome of the case.
