Tuesday morning in Orlando may still bring a few showers, with temperatures around 75 degrees before showers and thunderstorms build. Rain becomes more likely late Tuesday morning and peaks during the afternoon, while the high reaches about 84 degrees before readings slide toward the upper 70s.
The National Weather Service in Melbourne puts Tuesday's rain chance near 80%, with a quarter-inch to half-inch of rain possible. The update is a sharper turn toward widespread rain than the earlier outlook covered in Hoodline's Monday forecast.
Storms Could Disrupt The Afternoon
Rain chances rise through the day, with showers and thunderstorms likely during the afternoon. Heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds are possible, with the strongest storms capable of producing gusts near 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Flooding Risk Builds Through Thursday
Repeated rounds of rain could create minor flooding in low-lying areas and on roads that drain slowly. East-central Florida faces a limited risk for excessive rainfall through Thursday, with widespread totals of 1 to 2 inches possible and isolated spots potentially receiving around 4 inches.
Wednesday And Thursday Stay Soggy
Wednesday brings another stormy day, with an 80% chance of rain, a high near 82 and a low around 73. Thursday looks much the same, with showers and thunderstorms likely, temperatures in the lower 80s and occasional wind gusts up to 20 mph inland. Coastal communities north of Cape Canaveral could see stronger onshore winds, especially Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Beach And Boating Conditions Turn Rougher
East-central Florida beaches face a moderate rip-current risk Tuesday, with conditions expected to deteriorate along the Volusia and Space coasts Wednesday. A Small Craft Advisory begins Tuesday evening for portions of the Atlantic and expands to additional northern waters Wednesday, making offshore trips a poor bet.
Wet Pattern Lingers Into The Weekend
Rain chances remain elevated Friday and Saturday at around 80%, even as temperatures climb back into the upper 80s. Sunday could reach 88 degrees with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, so the weekend may offer more heat but not much relief from the wet pattern.
Drivers should allow extra time for afternoon travel, avoid flooded roadways and head indoors when thunder is heard. Outdoor plans may start under calm skies Tuesday, but keeping a rain plan nearby will be the smart move through the weekend.
