Providence is getting one more crisp, mostly sunny day before a rainy holiday weekend takes over. Saturday starts near 50 degrees under clear skies, then warms to around 63 with no rain expected.
Saturday Offers A Brief Outdoor Window
Mostly sunny skies and light northwest winds will make Saturday the easiest day for outdoor plans, with afternoon temperatures in the low 60s. Saturday night turns partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around 43 degrees.
Rain Moves In Sunday Afternoon
The National Weather Service expects rain to be possible in the region Sunday afternoon and evening. The latest forecast moves the wet weather earlier than Hoodline's earlier Providence forecast, which had placed the main shower threat later Sunday evening.
Sunday night looks like the soggiest stretch, with rain showers, patchy fog and a chance of thunderstorms. Rain chances reach 100% in the overnight forecast, although no flooding concerns or damaging wind threat are currently indicated for Providence.
Columbus Day Starts Wet Then Gradually Improves
Rain showers are likely before 11 a.m. Monday, followed by mostly cloudy skies and a high near 68. Morning plans could still be damp, especially if showers linger longer than expected.
Another Shower Chance Arrives Tuesday
Tuesday begins partly sunny with a high near 66, but another round of showers could arrive after 2 p.m. Unsettled weather remains possible late Tuesday or Wednesday, though timing is uncertain, with dry weather returning by Thursday.
