Louisville is starting Thursday under clear skies and temperatures near 61 degrees, but the city is headed for another sunny afternoon in the low 80s. The warm, dry stretch continues through Friday before showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds move in this weekend.

Sunny, Dry Stretch Holds Through Friday

Thursday will stay sunny, with a high near 82 and a light north wind. Afternoon humidity is expected to fall into the 20% to 30% range, making the air feel noticeably drier even as temperatures climb.

Friday looks warmer, with sunshine and a high near 85. The night should remain mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to around 59 degrees and a light southeast breeze.

Weekend Rain Arrives Saturday Afternoon

Saturday begins partly sunny and warm, with a high near 81, but rain chances increase after 2 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more likely Saturday night, when the chance of precipitation rises to about 90% and wind gusts could reach 25 to 30 mph.

The region could see roughly three-quarters of an inch to 1.5 inches of rain, with locally higher totals possible. The rainfall would be welcome after the recent dry stretch, though brief heavy downpours could create ponding and localized flooding in spots.

Storms Linger Into Sunday Before Skies Clear

Sunday looks much cooler, with showers and thunderstorms likely and a high near 72. The unsettled weather may continue into Sunday night before conditions turn mostly sunny and warmer for Columbus Day, when Louisville could reach 80 degrees.

Tuesday should remain sunny near 78, followed by a cooler Wednesday with a high around 71. There are no watches, warnings or advisories posted for the Louisville area at this time, according to the National Weather Service Louisville.

The latest forecast sharpens the weekend storm timing outlined in Hoodline’s earlier outlook, giving outdoor plans a clear window through Friday before the weather turns wetter and windier.
