Knoxville woke to clear skies and temperatures around 55 degrees Wednesday morning, with a warm, sunny afternoon ahead. The high should reach about 81 degrees, and rain is not expected today.
Sunny Stretch Holds Through Friday
Light southwest winds of 5 mph or less will accompany the sunshine Wednesday, followed by a night with a low near 57. Thursday and Friday look even warmer, with sunny or mostly sunny skies and highs near 84 degrees both days.
Friday night will turn mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain showers after 2 a.m. Saturday. The overnight low should settle near 59 degrees, and the chance of rain is about 20%.
Rain Chances Rise This Weekend
Saturday brings partly sunny skies, a high near 79 and a 50% chance of showers. Showers and thunderstorms become more likely Saturday night, when the rain chance rises to 70% and temperatures dip only to around 62 degrees.
Sunday looks like the wettest day of the forecast period, with showers likely before 2 p.m. and thunderstorms possible afterward. The high should reach about 77 degrees, while Sunday night remains unsettled with a 40% chance of showers.
The National Weather Service says moisture from a Gulf system could also bring strong winds to the mountains and foothills Saturday night, though the storm's track and local impacts remain uncertain. No watches, warnings or advisories were listed for Tennessee as of Wednesday morning.
Improvement Arrives Monday
Monday should bring partly sunny skies with a 30% chance of showers and a high near 79. A slight chance of evening showers fades into partly cloudy conditions, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 81 expected Tuesday.
For outdoor plans, Wednesday through Friday offer the most reliable stretch of dry weather. Weekend plans may need a backup, especially Saturday night and Sunday when thunderstorms and gusty conditions are possible.
