Three vehicles collided west of Hardin around 11 a.m. on Monday, sending all three drivers to area hospitals after one car crossed the center line and another overturned off the roadway.
According to the KMMO report, the crash began when a 55-year-old Hardin woman slowed down to make a left turn from westbound Route 10 into a business near Mansur Road. A 79-year-old Richmond man driving behind her tried to avoid hitting her vehicle and started skidding, the station reported, citing the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The 55-year-old woman's vehicle went off the road and overturned; the Richmond man's skidding vehicle then crossed the center line and struck a third car, driven by a 68-year-old Hardin woman.
Moderate Injuries for Third Driver
The 68-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital, the report states. The other two drivers involved, the 55-year-old Hardin woman and the 79-year-old Richmond man, were treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.
The highway patrol reported the details of the collision, though the exact roadway mile marker and the names of the drivers have not been released. It also remains unclear whether any citations or further investigation resulted from the crash.
