A flamingo logo and a menu full of nitro lemonades and matcha clouds are the calling cards of Sunfly, a new tropical-themed drive-thru beverage concept that has set up shop at 4740 S. Colony Blvd. in The Colony. Reports on the opening date have varied: one account says the location was set to debut Oct. 16, while another describes it as already open for business.
A Tiki Lounge Built For The Drive-Thru Lane
Sunfly is the first location of a concept created by hospitality operators Matt Bailey and John Brennan, according to Local Profile. As QSR Web describes it, the drive-thru beverage concept combines craft cocktail-inspired drinks, functional beverages and fresh snacks under one roof. The brand's owners have described it as a craft-cocktail-bar-inspired, tiki-lounge-like drive-thru experience, leaning into a name and flamingo logo meant to convey a tropical, leisure-oriented identity.
Bailey explained the thinking behind the concept in an official statement. “We wanted to bring the creativity and quality of our full-service restaurants to a fast, approachable, yet elevated drive-thru experience,” he said, pointing to a partnership with Brennan built around translating sit-down hospitality into something that works from a car window.
What's On The Menu
Sunfly's drink lineup leans heavily into fruit and caffeine combinations. The menu includes nitro lemonades in flavors such as strawberry basil and blueberry coconut, alongside matcha clouds topped with fruit cold foam in combinations including mango tango, colada crush and banana brûlée, per the same account. Java clouds pair nitro cold brew with flavors like golden foster, blondie mudslide and blueberry muffin, while hydro quenchers and glow ups bring coconut water, natural electrolytes and aloe-based tonics into the mix.
Customers looking to tailor their order further can add protein, collagen, prebiotic fiber, lion's mane or electrolytes to their drinks. On the food side, Sunfly bakes its own cinnamon buns, scones and cookies, and also serves breakfast items, grilled chicken wraps and other snacks. A drink and snack together run around $10, the report notes.
A 15-Week Giveaway And Expansion Plans
Sunfly is also launching Cabana Club, a 15-week series of limited-edition weekly giveaways tied to its signature beverages, according to the CultureMap Dallas report by Stephanie Allmon Merry. The giveaways will be offered in limited quantities each week, with details shared on Sunfly's Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Beyond The Colony, Sunfly plans to expand across Dallas-Fort Worth, with six additional locations already on the list: Frisco, Keller, Prosper, Richardson, Crowley and Plano, according to Local Profile. Opening dates and exact addresses for those future shops have not been announced.
