Comedian Tom Segura is bringing his newly announced “Preposterous” tour to downtown Omaha, with a stop at the historic Orpheum Theater set for January 16, 2027. Tickets went on sale Thursday, with prices starting at $44.75 through the venue's official box office outlet.
KETV reported the Omaha show announcement and ticket-sale date; the tour was announced in September and is set to begin in January 2027. As BroadwayWorld reports, the tour follows Segura's global “Come Together” tour and his “I'm Coming Everywhere” world tour, which together logged more than 300 performances. Tickets for the Omaha show are available through Ticket Omaha, which lists an age recommendation of 16 and older and an optional preshow Happy Hour add-on for fans looking to make a night of it.
Segura is a familiar name to podcast listeners well beyond the comedy circuit. He co-hosts “Your Mom's House” with his ex-wife, Christina Pazsitzky, and “Two Bears One Cave” with his friend Bert Kreischer, per KETV's reporting. Those shows anchor YMH Studios, Segura's production company, which the station's report notes reaches millions of digital listeners weekly while also branching into television development.
A Historic Stage for a Modern Comedy Tour
The Orpheum Theater itself carries plenty of history. Managed by Omaha Performing Arts, it opened as a vaudeville house on October 10, 1927, according to Omaha Performing Arts. That history gives Segura's Omaha stop a historic setting.
Within Omaha's live entertainment scene, the Orpheum sits in a distinct middle tier. Visit Omaha describes it as the city's primary fixed-seat theater, positioned between the 3,000-capacity standing-room setup at Steelhouse Omaha and the sprawling 17,000-seat CHI Health Center arena. Both the Orpheum and Steelhouse are operated by Omaha Performing Arts.
Construction Could Complicate Show-Night Parking
Fans planning to attend should budget extra travel time. Ticket Omaha has issued a warning that ongoing downtown construction near 16th and Harney Streets may affect parking and traffic around the venue on show night, a reminder that downtown street work has repeatedly snarled access to the theater district in recent months.
A Packed Run-Up Before the Tour Even Starts
Segura arrives in Omaha fresh off an unusually busy stretch. He released his sixth Netflix stand-up special, “Teacher,” on Christmas Eve 2025, joining a streaming library that includes “Sledgehammer,” “Ball Hog,” “Disgraceful,” “Mostly Stories” and “Completely Normal,” according to Forbes. “Teacher” leaned heavily on real-life storytelling about fatherhood and family, the outlet noted.
He's also been busy behind the camera. Segura created, produced and starred in the dark comedy sketch series “Bad Thoughts,” which debuted on Netflix in May 2025 and returned for a second season this past May, earning two 2026 Emmy nominations for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series and Outstanding Performer, per Wikipedia.
Before the “Preposterous” tour even gets underway, Segura is set to co-headline the inaugural Fastball Comedy Festival at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, on October 17 and 18, sharing the outdoor stadium bill with Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle, according to 313 Presents.
Hoodline previously reported that Segura has booked two Pittsburgh dates for the same tour in May 2027, underscoring just how far the 30-city run stretches across the country before Segura even reaches his January stop in Omaha.
