Worcester is getting a classic cold-but-clear Halloween, with sunny skies, a high near 53 degrees and no rain expected Saturday. Morning temperatures will sit in the upper 30s before the afternoon warms up, while northwest winds gradually ease. By nightfall, the costume-friendly forecast turns sharply colder.
The National Weather Service Boston/Norton office expects a clear Saturday night with temperatures dropping to around 30 degrees and light west winds. Anyone planning to stay outside for trick-or-treating or Halloween events should expect a much colder evening than afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny Halloween Afternoon, Frigid After Dark
Saturday afternoon should be the easier part of the day for outdoor plans, with sunshine and temperatures reaching the low 50s. Winds from the northwest will run around 3 to 8 mph, adding a little bite even under clear skies.
After sunset, temperatures will fall quickly toward the freezing mark. Warm layers, gloves and a jacket over lighter costumes may become less optional as the evening stretches on.
Warm-Up Builds Through Wednesday
The sunny stretch continues Sunday, when Worcester could reach 59 degrees under clear skies. Monday and Tuesday look warmer still, with highs near 65 and 66, followed by a partly sunny Wednesday topping out around 68.
Rain Chances Return Late Next Week
Dry weather is expected to hold through at least Wednesday, though clouds will increase Tuesday night and Wednesday. A chance of showers arrives Thursday, with a 40% chance of rain, followed by a wetter Friday when showers and thunderstorms are likely.
