Venture Atlanta, an annual startup and venture capital showcase, kicked off Wednesday at the Woodruff Arts Center and Atlanta Symphony Hall, with 99 companies selected to pitch over two days of presentations, panels and networking. Venture Atlanta 2026 runs through Thursday.

This year's lineup is notably larger than last year's. The event selected 99 companies for 2026, up from the 86 companies chosen for Venture Atlanta 2025, as reported by Hypepotamus.

Deep Tech and Defense Take a Bigger Stage

The 2026 presenting companies span a wide swath of the tech economy, including AI, enterprise software, fintech, healthcare, cybersecurity, climate technology, robotics, manufacturing and defense technology, according to a release carried by prnewswire.com. Thursday's programming is dedicated specifically to deep tech and defense tech, the same release states.

Physical AI refers to robotics and hardware systems powered by artificial intelligence.

A $475,000 Prize and a Day for Growth-Stage CEOs

Competition for investor attention is built into the event itself. The Startup Showcase Live competition will hand its winning company a $475,000 investment prize, as reported by Venture Atlanta, according to the prnewswire.com release announcing this year's lineup.

Wednesday's schedule also included a full day of programming designed exclusively for growth-stage tech CEOs, led by six founders who have built and sold companies at scale, presented in partnership with Scalebound, per Venture Atlanta's own event overview.

Venture Atlanta says it has helped launch more than 1,000 companies, which have raised over $8.8 billion, according to the prnewswire.com release. Hypepotamus cites that same $8.8 billion figure as the total raised collectively by Venture Atlanta alumni companies.

Recent alumni offer a glimpse of what can follow a Venture Atlanta pitch. Reditus Space raised $7.1 million after appearing at the 2025 conference, VeroSkills raised $5.3 million the following October, and Lucid Bots closed a $20 million Series B earlier in 2026, Hypepotamus reports. With a larger and more deep-tech-heavy lineup this year, organizers and attendees alike will be watching to see which of the 99 companies on stage this week turn their pitches into similar follow-on funding.
