In September 2025, Daniel Munive Viruet was arrested in a case involving a Bradenton elementary-school resource teacher. About a year later, Hillsborough County investigators say they found evidence of new online uploads linked to his Wimauma home and arrested him on allegations that he violated probation related to a prior case.
Earlier case involved a Bradenton school employee
Bradenton.com identified Munive Viruet, then 41, as a resource teacher at Manatee Elementary School. The outlet reported that the school district placed him on administrative leave and confirmed he would not return to campus. The district said the charges stemmed from incidents in Hillsborough County and that there was no indication Manatee students were involved, the report said. Authorities charged him in that case with possession of child pornography and with filming, distributing or possessing images or video depicting sexual activity with an animal.
The earlier arrest led to the felony probation that is central to the new investigation. The allegations in the current case are separate from the earlier charges and have not, by themselves, established that he committed a new crime.
Investigators allege new uploads violated probation
The Tampa Free Press reported that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a CyberTipline report on April 16 about illicit files uploaded online. Investigators traced the uploads to Munive Viruet’s Wimauma residence and identified him as the person who posted the material, according to the report.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Internet Predators Unit searched the home with a SWAT team and seized several electronic devices, including a cellphone, the Tampa Free Press reported. Investigators allege the activity violated Munive Viruet’s active felony probation. He was arrested on September 30, 2026, and faces two counts of probable-cause violation of probation connected to the use or production of minor sexual material, according to the outlet. Additional charges remain possible as the investigation continues.
Sheriff Chad Chronister described the arrest as Munive Viruet’s second in one year, the Tampa Free Press reported. The outlet also reported that Munive Viruet remained in custody while detectives continued investigating.
Probation allegation is still subject to court proceedings
A probation-violation allegation is not a finding that the alleged conduct occurred. Florida’s criminal procedure rules provide that a judge may order an accused probation violator brought before the court or release the person with or without bail while awaiting a further hearing, according to the rules published by The Florida Bar.
National figures offer scale, not a local trend
The investigation is part of a subject addressed by Internet Crimes Against Children task forces nationally, but available figures do not establish a Florida or Hillsborough County trend. The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention says those task forces conducted nearly 347,000 investigations in 2025, leading to more than 17,000 arrests. Those are nationwide task-force totals, not figures specific to this case or to local activity.
