Las Vegas is starting Tuesday near 55 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, but the bigger story is a cold front bringing gusty winds and a sharp afternoon cooldown. Northwest winds are already blowing around 15 mph, with gusts expected to reach 31 mph later today as the high tops out near 66.
Cooler Tuesday, Then A Sunny Rebound
The National Weather Service expects mostly sunny conditions this afternoon, with rain chances in the valley staying low at about 10%. Isolated showers or thunderstorms remain possible in the eastern half of the broader forecast area, but Las Vegas itself is expected to stay largely dry.
Tuesday night will have a low near 51, with northerly winds weakening overnight. Wednesday brings a calmer-looking forecast, with sunshine, a high near 73 and breezy north winds lingering down the Colorado River Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
Another Wind Push Thursday
Thursday brings sunny skies and a high near 77, with gusty north winds returning. Patchy blowing dust is possible Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., before Friday reaches 79 and the weekend settles into highs around 79 to 80.
The fast shift marks a substantial update from Hoodline's Monday forecast, which focused on showers and thunderstorms. For Tuesday errands, outdoor plans and high-profile vehicles, the wind—not rain—is the main thing to watch.
