A 24-year-old woman is facing aggravated assault charges after DeKalb County police say she intentionally drove a car into three people outside a sports bar early Saturday, following an argument that started inside. Officers say all three victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the parking lot assault, and the driver stayed put at the scene until police arrived.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, DeKalb County police officers responded around 2:03 a.m. Saturday to a report of pedestrians struck by a vehicle in a parking lot on the 4900 block of Flat Shoals Parkway. That stretch of road sits just outside The Spot Sports Bar and Grill, located at 4975 Flat Shoals Parkway. When officers arrived, they found three adults suffering from injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The Spot’s posted schedule lists Friday and Saturday hours until 2:30 a.m., placing the reported 2:03 a.m. response within its stated late-night operating window. The bar also advertises three bars inside and outside the venue, along with food and sports programming. The business describes itself as a Decatur sports bar; its website lists its hours and amenities.
Argument Inside Led to Parking Lot Confrontation
Detectives determined that the driver, identified as Amoy Rowe, intentionally ran into the pedestrians following an argument inside The Spot Sports Bar and Grill, per investigators' account relayed through the station's report. What sparked the dispute inside the venue has not been disclosed; investigators have not released what started the argument.
Rowe did not flee after the crash. Police say she remained at the scene following the incident, and she was subsequently taken into custody. She faces charges of aggravated assault and was booked into the DeKalb County Jail, where she remained, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
Georgia law defines aggravated assault to include an assault with a deadly weapon or with an object used in a way likely to cause serious bodily injury. The statute sets a general penalty of one to 20 years in prison upon conviction, with different provisions for certain circumstances. The charge in this case remains an allegation, not a finding of guilt; the state statute describes the offense and its penalties.
Victims' Identities Still Withheld
Authorities have not released the names or current medical conditions of the three injured adults, leaving much of the human toll of Saturday's incident unknown for now, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Blaine Clark, a public information officer for DeKalb County Police Services, provided incident and arrest details to media.
No additional information about potential prior history between Rowe and the victims, or the specifics of what triggered the fight inside the bar, has been made public. The case remains under investigation by DeKalb County police.
