A woman riding a scooter died in a crash on Camp Creek Parkway in South Fulton early Friday morning, according to police, who found her unresponsive along the roadway between Merk Road and Enon Road. Grady EMS personnel determined she was deceased at the scene, and the roadway reopened to traffic at approximately 4:51 a.m. once the investigation allowed.
According to 11Alive, responding officers located the woman unresponsive along the busy corridor after the crash was reported. South Fulton police said the circumstances surrounding how the crash happened remain under investigation, and no additional details were immediately available as of Friday morning.
Police Say More Information Is Still to Come
South Fulton police have not released the woman's identity, her age, or specifics about what led to the collision, and the station's report does not indicate whether another vehicle was involved. Investigators said they will share more information as it becomes available, leaving the exact circumstances of the fatal crash unresolved for now.
Camp Creek Parkway has seen a string of serious crashes in recent memory, underscoring the corridor's reputation as a dangerous stretch of road for South Fulton drivers and other travelers. A separate collision at the intersection of Camp Creek Parkway and Enon Road left a motorcyclist airlifted for treatment after a crash that injured three people, per WSB-TV, which reported that police were still trying to determine the cause of that wreck.
A Pattern of Deadly Crashes Along the Corridor
Further down the parkway, a motorcyclist was killed at the intersection with Bakers Ferry Road when a blue motorcycle traveling north collided with a tan Lexus that was attempting a left turn, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. That crash happened around 7:30 a.m. and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the outlet reported.
In 2025, a 23-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash near where Camp Creek Parkway meets Butner Road, while another woman was struck and taken to a hospital, according to Atlanta News First. That case was a separate incident from Friday's scooter crash, but it reflects the same stretch of roadway's history of fatal collisions.
For now, the death of the woman on the scooter adds another unresolved case to that history. South Fulton police have given no timeline for when more details about the crash might emerge, and the investigation into exactly how it unfolded continues.
