According to Daily Voice, a 75-year-old man died Friday after an incident involving a fourth-floor balcony at Livana Fair Lawn, a senior living complex on Pollitt Drive, and investigators are treating the death as a possible suicide while they continue to piece together what happened. The man was found unresponsive in the building's courtyard around 10 a.m.
According to Daily Voice, the circumstances of the death remain under investigation even as detectives lean toward the possible-suicide theory. Authorities had not yet notified the man's next of kin, the outlet reported. A physician at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood reportedly pronounced him dead.
A Brand-New 55-and-Older Community
Daily Voice described Livana Fair Lawn as a 307-unit apartment complex for adults 55 and older at 19-00 Pollitt Drive. Kushner developed the property on the site of a former vacant office building, and the complex opened in June 2025, according to the outlet.
The complex advertises recreational and wellness amenities, including an outdoor pool, fitness center and landscaped courtyards, along with social events for residents, the report noted.
What the Planning Proposal Included
For planning context, TAPinto reported that the Kushner Company proposal before Fair Lawn’s Planning Board called for 307 units, including 46 affordable housing units. That account describes the proposal's planned unit mix; it does not establish whether or when the plan received final approval.
Investigation Still Unfolding
The man's identity and connection to Livana have not been confirmed in the report, which also did not establish a precise sequence of events. Detectives have not announced a final cause or manner of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
